Donald E. Clayton, MD, FAAAI


Dr. Donald Clayton joined IU Health Arnett as an allergist in 1980 following his postgraduate training in internal medicine and allergy and immunology at the University of Wisconsin. He was involved in leadership as a medical director from 1990-2001 and has served on the IU Health Arnett Board of Directors.

Dr. Clayton and his wife, Mindy, enjoyed raising three children in Lafayette and now enjoy being part of the lives of their five grandchildren.

Jeff Brown, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jeff Brown joined the Arnett Clinic, now IU Health Arnett in 1989 as an internal medicine doctor. Dr. Brown has served as the division director for adult inpatient services at IU Health Arnett Hospital since its opening in October 2008. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Brown attained his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Internal Medicine.
As CMO, Dr. Brown will support the overall operations, administration and medical management of the clinical program for the region. He will work with IU Health West Central Region President Donald Clayton, MD, to lead the 293 member medical staff while maintaining communication with various departments and physicians.
Dr. Brown and his wife Danielle reside in West Lafayette with their daughter, Isabella.

Brian Weirich, DHA, MHA, RN, CENP

Chief Nursing Officer

Dr. Brian Weirich joined the executive team at IU Health as the Chief Nursing Executive in January 2017. Dr. Weirich is responsible for setting the strategic vision for nursing and patient care throughout the West Central Region. He aligns the vision of IU Health of delivering the best care by implementing policies and standards that ensure quality and consistency.  Before joining IU Health, Dr. Weirich has held various leadership positions at University of Colorado Health, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Ohio State University Medical Center. 

Dr.  Weirich has a doctorate in Healthcare Administration from The Medical University of South Carolina.  Dr. Weirich also has a master's degree in Healthcare Administration and a bachelor's degree in Nursing both from Ohio University and he is a 2015 Fellow of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. 

Jeff Zeh

Chief Operating Officer

Jeff Zeh joined IU Health as the president of IU Health White Memorial Hospital in February 2015. In November 2016, Jeff was named the  Chief Operating Officer of the West Central Region. Prior to joining IU Health, Jeff has extensive healthcare leadership experience as the Vice President of Navion Healthcare Solutions.  Previously, he held several senior leadership roles with the now Franciscan Health at Lafayette St. Elizabeth Hospital, Home Hospital and St. Claire Hospital in Crawfordsville.

Jeff is originally from Frankfort but is a long time West Lafayette resident where he graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Communication and Advertising. He also received his Master’s Degree from Indiana University in Health Administration.

Jeff and his wife Beth have three children and reside in West Lafayette.

Cara Breidster

Chief Financial Officer

Cara Breidster joined the executive team at IU Health Arnett in July of 2012. She has been with IU Health since 2005 most recently as Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in Accounting. Cara has a wealth of knowledge in healthcare accounting and finance having spent seventeen years at Ernst and Young, LLP specializing in healthcare and tax consulting.

James Bien, MD

VP of Quality & Patient Safety

Dr. James Bien joined Arnett Clinic, now Indiana University Health Arnett, in 1999 as a pediatrician. He served as Chief Medical Officer before accepting the role of Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety in 2011. Dr. Bien earned his bachelor of science in biomedical engineering from Marquette University, his medical degree from Northwestern University, and trained in pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center with an additional year as chief resident in pediatrics.

In his current position, Dr. Bien works to ensure a culture of safety and supports clinical improvement work throughout IU Health Arnett. He oversees the Quality Department, Risk and Case Management, and the Medical Staff Office. He also serves as the organization’s sponsor for lean engineering transformation.

Dr. Bien and his wife, Cadi, live in West Lafayette with their three children.

Kyle L. Allen, RPh, MBA

Chief Practice Officer

Kyle Allen joined IU Health Arnett in 2012. Kyle graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1981 and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Indiana University in 1995. She was selected as a Distinguished Alumna of the Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 1996. Kyle has held numerous management positions throughout her professional career at Methodist Medical Group and IU Health including Chief Pharmacist, Director of Pharmacy, Director of Ancillary Services, Director of Quality Improvement, Chief Operating Officer (all at MMG) and Vice President of Primary Care (IU Health Physicians). She volunteers with her church in Indianapolis and annually serves as the pharmacist on a medical mission trip to El Salvador. Kyle is married to Jake and they have two grown daughters, Kelly and Kara.

Koreen Kyhnell

VP of Human Resources and Administration

Koreen Kyhnell joined IU Health Arnett in June 1997 as Director of Human Resources and was promoted to vice president in 2003. Previous to joining IU Health Arnett, she had 10 years of experience in human resource management in manufacturing, distribution and retail. Koreen holds a Bachelor of Science in Retail Management from Purdue University

Koreen and her husband, Karl, have two boys. Her personal interests include her son's sports activities, Purdue University football and basketball, the Chicago Cubs and reading.
