Incontinence - Incontinence is defined as the uncontrollable loss of urine. On average, seven out of 10 women struggle with this problem. However, over 80% of those cases are cured, or at least drastically improved, with physical therapy intervention.
Pelvic Pain - Pelvic pain can be associated with pelvic and abdominal surgeries, pelvic trauma, or changes in the vascular area following chronic bladder infections or vulvae irritation. Several treatment options are available.
Fibromyalgia - Fibromyalgia is a condition characteristic of widespread pain throughout the body combined with specific areas of tenderness. Clients experience disruptions in the circulatory system of the autonomic nervous system and increased activity in the sympathetic nervous system. Several treatment options are available.
Sacro-iliac Joint Dysfunction - Low back pain is a condition that often occurs due to postural changes within the body. These changes can be associated with stretching of the fibers and ligaments and also with poor abdominal strength.
Pregnancy and Postpartum - Pregnancy produces a tremendous physical demand on the body. The pelvic floor, the abdominal muscles can be affected during pregnancy. The Rehab Department offers many treatment options.
Free cancer screenings are available: skin, breast and pelvic. Reduced rates pap smears and mammograms are available throughout the year.
SLEEP DISORDERS CENTER
The following are offered through the Sleep Disorders Center: sleep studies, support group, education and training on CPAP and mask fitting.
Smoking cessation classes are available for you and/or your family.
Radiology offers the following services for women: mammography, breast ultrasound, dexa (bone densitometry) scan, stereotactic breast biopsy, 3D/4D pregnancy ultrasound.
Nutrition Services offers nutrition assessments and counseling, diet instructions and nutrition related materials.
Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital offers prenatal care for you and your baby. A Board Certified Obstetrician is available. Prenatal classes are offered. Call 812.275.5993 for an appointment.
