Images That Inspire Strength, Healing & Assurance

At IU Health Bedford Hospital, we understand the importance of creating a healing environment for our patients and their families. Research shows that certain types of images contribute to an atmosphere of strength, healing and assurance.

These images include landscape, nature or still life photography that conveys a hopeful tone. For example, an image of a flower blooming in the spring is more hopeful in tone than an image of a rain-soaked flower. Another example would be a grove of trees: a hopeful image would show the trees in the summer, with fresh leaves and color, but an image of the same grove of trees in a winter setting with no leaves and a bleak sky would not provide the same feeling. See examples below

Community Showcase in a Community Hospital

As a community hospital, committed to the health and well-being of Lawrence County residents, we want to bring more of the community inside the hospital by showcasing local student photography. In order to further represent our community through this artwork, entries submitted to this contest should depict nature, landscape and still life images captured right here in Lawrence County.
