Improving the Lives of Our Patients and Communities
02/11/2011 | Author: IU Health
As a healthcare organization, Indiana University Health is always looking for ways to improve the lives of our patients and communities. It’s our mission. This year is no different.
IU Health has a long-standing commitment to providing charity care to uninsured, low-income and medically indigent patients. IU Health and our employees are devoted to improving the health of Indiana communities through a variety of activities. Here are some of the numbers from the past couple years:
-
Total 2009 community investment: $498,463,260
-
Persons served (2009): 500,000
-
2010 United Way commitments: $612,596
-
Number of employee volunteers (2010): 5,002
This year we hope to exceed these numbers. We’re always open for new ideas so if anyone out there has a good suggestion for any new ways IU Health can expand our community services, please comment below.
