State & Local Stats

In 2007, the Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) and Indiana University conducted its first survey with 7th through 12th graders about sexual attitudes and behavior. The survey was anonymous and parents signed a form to state that they wanted their child to participate in the survey. Students could choose not to fill out the survey. Approximately 10 percent of MCCSC 7th through 12th graders completed the survey.

The Youth Risk Behavior Survey is a national survey effort led biennially by the CDC to monitor students’ health risks and behaviors. Forty-four high schools and 2,331 high school students participated in Indiana. The graph below displays Indiana’s results from 2007.
