In 2011, IU Health Bloomington conducted an Employee Satisfaction survey through Morehead. Registered Nurse responses outperformed the national mean in 10 of the 12 indicators, or 83% of the time. Areas in which nurses highlighted as particularly strong, included Employee Respect (Trust, Excellence, Attitude, and Mutual Respect); Growth and Development through formal and informal education; Quality and Customer Focus; Employee Involvement through Shared Governance; and Co-worker Relations as related to the spirit of teamwork.
Support for Higher Education
IU Health Bloomington Nurses are supported through flexible scheduling and tuition reimbursement strategies in their quest to successfully achieve a baccalaureate degree or higher. In 2009, IU Health Bloomington reported 35.2% of its direct care RNs had a BSN or higher. In first quarter of 2012, that percentage rose to 43%. Several nursing programs offer excellent traditional, online and accelerated nursing programs including Indiana University; Indiana Wesleyan; Indiana State University; Western Governors University; Purdue-Calumet; Purdue; and Ball State.
