The Tuition Reimbursement program exists to support and develop a highly qualified workforce that meets IU Health Bloomington Hospital’s staffing and strategic needs by providing staff members with assistance in continuing their individual professional development through a formal education program. The goal of IU Health Bloomington Hospital’s Tuition Reimbursement program is to provide current staff with financial support for professional development that benefits both the individual and the organization.
Financial Assistance for Nursing Certification
IU Health Bloomington Hospital supports its nurses in achieving nationally recognized certification and reimburses their nurses when they have successfully passed their certification exam. In 2010, the medical staff recognized the IU Health Bloomington nurses with a donation to the Nursing Excellence Foundation Fund. The Nursing Excellence Magnet Champions decided to use those funds to support nurses who wanted to sit for national certification but did not have the monies upfront to do so. In 2011, the Financial Assistance for Nursing Certification policy was approved. To date, three nurses have benefitted from this new policy.
