Nursing Leadership Academy

In 2009, IU Health Bloomington nursing leadership created a program which would offer direct care registered nurses an opportunity to learn more about the role of the nursing leader through a hybrid educational program. This program provides both instructor led classes and clinical experiences which focus on such subjects as Conflict Resolution, Fiscal Responsibilities in Nursing Budgets, and Delegation. Since 2009, 8 nurses have successfully completed the program. Of those 8 nurses, 6 have assumed leadership positions. Seven direct care nurses are enrolled in the current 2012-2013 cohort.
