Services Offered
Positive Link’s continuum of services includes both HIV prevention and direct services for those infected with HIV. These two teams seek to reduce the occurrence of new HIV infections, improve the overall health and wellbeing of individuals living with HIV, and of those at risk of contracting HIV.
Our Prevention Services Team offers a broad spectrum of programming available throughout the community to increase awareness of HIV risk behaviors and provide free and confidential HIV testing.
Call 812.353.3169 to hear our testing hours or make an appointment.
Prevention staff work throughout the region to provide educational presentations, accessible HIV counseling and testing, and support community partners in achieving greater wellness for all.
For more information on prevention services, visit the Prevention Services page or contact our Prevention Coordinator at 812.353.3273 or ebrinegar@iuhealth.org.
Our Client Services Team provides targeted, holistic, and individualized case management to those in our community infected with HIV. HIV diagnosis can be a life-changing event, but is not something you must handle alone. There are no fees for services, and no eligibility requirement other than being HIV positive. Let our team assist you in addressing your needs, be it specific to your current health status or a more broad need for social services.
For more information on client services, visit the Client Services page or contact our Services Coordinator at 812.353.3241 or tbaynes@iuhealth.org.
Staff Support
Positive Link is comprised of 15 staff members who work in either HIV Prevention or HIV Client Services. Staff members bring a wealth of knowledge in terms of both social work and public health, and have a combined 160 years of experience working in the field. For our staff, working in the field of sexual health is not “just a job,” but is instead a way of life. Our committed staff can assist you in securing the information or services you need.
Positive Link utilizes interns and volunteers. Typically we seek both masters and bachelor’s degree students in the schools of public health or social work, although we will consider interns from other degree programs. Volunteer positions are somewhat limited, but are utilized to assist in community events and office support. We seek to provide all interns and volunteers with a significant and worthwhile experience, and therefore limit the number of positions to ensure a quality experience.
For more information on interning or volunteering with Positive Link, please submit a resume and explanation of your internship requirements to our program manager at jstowers@iuhealth.org. Community Involvement Positive Link staff members take an active role in the development of a healthy community for all living in south central Indiana. We seek to increase community health and wellness, including sexual health, throughout the region by participating in a number of community groups: including:
Community AIDS Action Group of South Central Indiana
Community AIDS Action Group of East Central Indiana
Indiana HIV Prevention Community Planning Group
Indiana Comprehensive HIV Services Planning and Advisory Council
