At Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital, our goal is to do everything we can to make you and your guests feel safe and comfortable while you are in our care. To make your stay with us easier, below is a listing of some of the many services that are available to you and your family.

Wheelchairs

Our team of guest relations representatives and hospital volunteers are happy to get you a wheelchair when you arrive at the hospital. Please ask any of our team members for assistance or visit the nearest information desk.

Places to Eat in the Hospital

We know that good nutrition helps heal the body, so there are a variety of dining options available for patients, families and guests at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Cafeteria

The Breakaway Cafeteria serves three healthy meals a day to the staff, visitors and patients of Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital and is located on the ground floor of the main campus.

Hours of Operation
Monday - Saturday: 6:30 am - 7 pm (no service from 10:30 - 11 am and limited service from 2 - 5 pm)
Sunday: 6:30 am - 3 pm
Night service offered from 1:30 am - 4 am Monday - Friday

To dine with a patient order a Guest Tray

A Guest Tray can be delivered at the same time as the patient meal. The cost for this is $8 per meal and will be paid in advance. To order a guest tray, call 812.353.9405  at least one hour prior to patient meal time and have a credit card ready. Cash and check also accepted. It is important to know that medical insurance does not cover the cost of Guest Trays.

For patients celebrating a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary, IU Health Bloomington Hospital can make special meal accommodations by sending a small birthday cupcake or pie. Several specialty items are available for more restrictive diets. Please inform our staff of any religious or other diet restrictions you would like to request for your meal preparation. We will accommodate as much as possible as it related to your diet order through your physician.

The Daily Perk
Visitors can purchase gourmet coffee and other beverages in the main hospital lobby on weekdays starting at 7:30 am.

Restaurant Deliveries
Restaurant deliveries and carry-in are welcome at the hospital. You should check with your nursing staff before ordering to make sure the food ordered matches the doctor’s diet orders.

We are happy to provide your family members or guests with meal trays so that they can dine with you in your room. Please ask your nurse to arrange for a guest tray. You should be aware that medical insurance does not pay for guest meals.

Internet Services

IU Health Bloomington Hospital is pleased to provide free Wi-Fi for you and your visitors. The wireless network is available 24/7 in all areas of our hospital. Please note that IU Health cannot provide technical help for your device or help connecting to the network.

Automated Teller Machines (ATMs)

For your convenience, ATMs are available on the main floor just outside of Elevator E. Any ATM card or card displaying the plus symbol can access these machines.

Mail Services

Outgoing Mail
There is a United States mailbox located outside the hospital canopy entrance on the main floor.

Incoming Mail
Patients may receive mail while staying at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Anyone wishing to send mail to a patient should address his or her envelope as follows:

Mail you receive after you leave will be forwarded to your home address.

Deliveries

Flowers and gifts may be delivered to the main information desk in the front lobby. Hospital volunteers deliver these items on weekdays to patient rooms.

Deliveries for Non-Disclosure Patients
Some patients choose to keep their stay in the hospital private. If you have asked us to not tell anyone that you are here by registering as a “non-disclosure” or “no information” patient, our team cannot say that you are a patient at the hospital. However, if a florist has your hospital room number, we can accept flower deliveries and bring them to your room

Gift Shop

The IU Health Bloomington Hospital gift shop offer unique gifts for all ages. The gift shop provide a full selection of magazines, gifts, cards, flowers, snacks and drinks.

Family members or friends who would like to purchase a gift can call 812.353.9410. Gift shop staff can help select the right gift, include a personal note and have it delivered for free anywhere in the hospital.

Retail Pharmacy

Pharmacy services, including prescription refills, are available at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. You can contact our pharmacy at 812.353.9860. The Outpatient Pharmacy is located in the main lobby of IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Tuesday / Thursday: 7 am - 3 pm
