Breast Cancer Patient Journey

Equipping you with the correct information and guiding you to make the best decision possible, is our goal.

Screening and Biopsy
You’ll have the best chance for early detection with an annual mammogram. IU Health offers a range of leading-edge technologies for detection. Should you need a biopsy, here is more information on the process.

If you’ve been diagnosed, you won’t be going through this alone. Our team of experts is here to guide you through your process with an individualized plan for your specific breast cancer diagnosis.

Within 48 hours of diagnosis, you can meet with a surgical oncologist to gain an understanding of your treatment options. Our physicians utilize different procedures, and in all cases are sensitive to preserving the shape of the breast, and finding the best solution for you.

We understand every patient has specific treatment needs. Learn more about the types of treatment options and what you might experience – including chemotherapy, radiation and the latest in clinical trials.
