Meet the Recruitment Team

Brett Walker

Director, Physician Recruitment

EDUCATION:

BA, Tabor College, Kansas
MSW, Indiana University

EXPERIENCE:

Brett Walker is the Director, Physician & Provider Recruitment at IU Health Physicians. He earned his B.A. at Tabor College, Kansas and his Masters at Indiana University. Brett was hired in 2001 to create and develop the in-house Physician Recruitment Program for the system. With over 15 years of physician recruitment experience, Brett oversees the physician and provider recruitment activities for IU Health Physicians and the Indiana University Health system.

He served a two-year term 2009-2010 as President of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (ASPR), which consists of more than 1,200 physician recruiters across all 50 states and several provinces in Canada.

Brett also has served on the ASPR Board of Directors as President-elect 2007 and 2008; and Board Member at Large 2005 and 2006. He also served as Co-Chairman of the ASPR Benchmark Committee 2008. This committee helped develop national benchmarks for the physician recruitment industry.

Brett is a frequent and trusted resource to medical journals, the Advisory Board Company, the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE), the Forum of Healthcare Strategists and others on topics and trends related to physician recruitment and retention. In addition, he often presents at conferences and educational forums throughout the United States.

Sheri Shaw

Senior Recruiter – Advanced Providers

BS, Human Services and Counseling, University of Wisconsin

EXPERIENCE:

Sheri has been a recruiting professional for over 20 years with experience across a variety of industries including Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, HR and IT. She began her career in Milwaukee placing Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners throughout the country. After relocating to Indianapolis 10 years ago Sheri worked as an internal recruiter at Eli Lilly and Company where she consulted with most of the company’s business functions and for the Consulting divisions with Hewitt Associates (including the Health Management organization).

In addition to her daily recruiting responsibilities, Sheri enjoys teaching. Sheri is a certified Behavioral Interviewing instructor and taught classes for more than 5 years.

Sheri refers to herself as being "born to recruit". She strives to build solid relationships and be a trusted partner with her clients and candidates as they work through making long term hiring and employment decisions. Sheri's excited to be part of promoting IU Health Physicians as the employer of choice for Physicians and Providers and hiring top medical talent to our organization.

Celeste Kichefski

EDUCATION:

BS Business Management, Indiana University

EXPERIENCE:

Celeste graduated from Indiana University and during the past 20 years consulted and recruited in numerous industries. Prior to joining the IU Health Physicians Physician Recruitment team, Celeste worked for Physician Services at Lutheran Health Network in Fort Wayne placing physicians within a wide range of specialties.

During the next few years, Celeste will have a dedicated focus on pediatric sub-specialties for IU and Riley Hospital for Children. Celeste is an active member of ASPR "Association of Staff Physician Recruiters". When she is not recruiting, Celeste enjoys spending time with her four children, one of whom plays football for the University of Indianapolis.

Kim Gary

EXPERIENCE:

Kim brings over 7 years of physician recruitment experience to the Indiana University Health Physician Recruitment team. She is excited to bring her executive search firm talents to one of the largest in-house recruitment departments in the US. Kim has had the opportunity to work with physicians and advanced providers of all specialties. Having built hundreds of strong relations from the physicians, spouses and clients via telephone, she is most excited about being able to be more hands on. She thrives on building relationships and finding the “right fit” the first time. Kim brings market and specialty knowledge along with passion for relationships. She is eager to bring top medical talent to Indiana University Health Physicians.

Kim is originally from Upstate New York and came to Indiana as a student of Indiana University in Bloomington. Kim, fell in love with the Midwest and still resides in Bloomington. Kim is an active member of the ASPR.

Chris Seidel

EXPERIENCE:

After graduating from Ball State University, Chris began his career working in the Sports Information Office at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

He then relocated to Indianapolis where he transitioned to the recruiting industry and initially worked in executive search with a locally owned IT search firm. Since, he has spent the last several years recruiting various healthcare professionals as nursing, nurse practitioners, rehabilitation, and many other areas of allied health. Prior to joining IU Health Physicians, he worked the last nine years in recruitment with a local hospital.

Chris is a board member of the Indiana Association of Healthcare Recruiters and is also involved as a committee member of Staffing Management Association, a sub-chapter of the local IndySHRM Association.

Sarah Conroe

EDUCATION:

BS, Lycoming College, Pennsylvania

EXPERIENCE:

Sarah brings over 5 years of Executive and Physician recruitment experience to the department. Prior to joining Indiana University Health Physicians Sarah was the in-house Physician Recruiter for a hospital in Upstate New York. Having worked with both executive and physician recruitment, Sarah is excited to work with a large state wide system in the area out Outpatient Primary Care. She enjoys building relationships with candidates and system departments. She has a true passion for helping physician candidates find their ideal position that suits their career goals.

Sarah is originally from Upstate New York and moved to Indianapolis in 2010. She is an Active member of ASPR (Association Staff Physician Recruiters).

Gloria Robertson

BS, Franklin College, Indiana

EXPERIENCE:

Gloria joined the IU Health team (now the IU Health Physicians Team) in August 2008 and has more than 20 years of administrative experience. Previously, she worked as the administrative assistant for the Development, Annual Fund and Events teams at the Riley Children's Foundation. Gloria brings strong organizational skills to the Physician Recruitment office. She supports the director and physician recruiters in logistics, reporting, event planning, marketing and office management.

Gloria and her husband, Rick, are lifelong Hoosiers residing on the southwest side of Indianapolis.

Angie Holland

Administrative Assistant

EDUCATION:

Enrolled - BS, Indiana Business College, Indiana

EXPERIENCE:

Angie brings over 15 years of administrative experience to the Physician Recruitment team. Prior to joining the Indiana Clinic, she worked at Eli Lilly assisting the Director of Medical Liaisons.
She is currently pursuing a BS degree at Harrison College in Health Care Management. She resides on the Northwest side of Indianapolis.
