Indiana University Health Frankfort Hospital provides comprehensive cardiovascular care close to home. The heart and vascular specialists at IU Health Frankfort Hospital can diagnose and treat many conditions that affect the cardiovascular system, including atherosclerosis (a buildup of plaque in the arteries), coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and more. They are also dedicated to improving the heart health of our community through health fairs and screenings.
Should you require emergency care, our emergency medicine team is trained in best-practice protocols for heart attacks, strokes and other heart events. Patients who need critical heart and vascular care beyond what we provide locally will be transported by ground or air by Indiana University Health LifeLine. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In addition, our partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine gives our physicians access to the latest heart and vascular research, which directly benefits the care you receive.

Who needs a heart scan?

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HEART SCAN
Must be between 40 and 79 years of age with one of these risk factors:
- Family history of heart disease, stroke, and/or other vascular disease
- High blood pressure
Heart scans give you a picture of your arteries and can help your doctor spot calcium deposits that narrow arteries and increase your risk of heart attack. it will also help your doctor know if you are at risk for heart disease.
