PNI Counselor
Pat uses her extensive training and compassion to provide support for patients and their loved ones. As a psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) counselor at the Indiana University Health Goshen Center for Cancer Care, she helps patients manage stress, increase coping skills, maintain a positive outlook and use emotional health to promote healing.
Since receiving her bachelor of arts in social work from Goshen College, Goshen, Ind., Pat has continued her education through extensive program training. She underwent hospice training at Elkhart General Community Hospice, Elkhart, Ind., as well as Healing Touch/Therapeutic Touch Training, a Colorado-based program, from the Healing Arts Center, Mishawaka, Ind. Currently, Pat is participating in the Spiritual Guidance Program at the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries of Elkhart.
Pat has worked in the human services field for many years, serving in positions such as the coordinator for hospice volunteers at a local area hospital and as Bridges Specialist at Chamberlain Elementary School, Goshen. Pat is committed to compassionate care and continues to expand her education and training as a means to better serve others.
