Modes of Transport

IU Health LifeLine brings the IU Health standard of critical care from hospital to patient 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We operate the industry’s most advanced emergency fleet by air and ground.

Our air transports are carried out with a Eurocopter 145, one of the most advanced helicopters used for air medical transport in the nation. Ground transports are made in Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICU). Air and ground capabilities allow us to transport critically ill and injured patients in nearly any situation.

The first priority of IU Health LifeLine is safety. Air and ground transport vehicles are equipped with advanced life-saving equipment and technology. We uphold a strict standard for our air and ground modes of transport that meets and exceeds state and federal regulations. Our standardized fleet of emergency vehicles provides our skilled clinicians with consistency, improving delivery of care and patient outcomes.
