Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Emergency scene dispatch requests are connected directly with the IU Health LifeLine communications center. The communications center will assess and dispatch the closest, most appropriate aircraft.

For patients in need of an inter-facility transfer, physicians are connected directly with the 24/7 Transfer Center. Phone calls are answered by critical care nurses who work directly with physicians to arrange patient transfers from any site– locally, regionally or nationally. Nurses coordinate all aspects of a patient’s transfer, admission and bed placement. When requesting a transfer, referring physicians can also transfer medical records and speak to the receiving physician.
