Car seat safety event

Description

The public is invited to learn more about keeping children safe at a free car seat safety event Friday, June 7 from 2 pm to 4 pm (Eastern time) in New Carlisle.

Over 90 percent of child safety seats are used or installed incorrectly. A certified child passenger safety technician will be available to offer car seat safety inspections to ensure car seats are age and size appropriate. Existing car seats will be checked for any cracks, wear or recall. Car seats that do not meet safety standards will be discarded and replaced free of charge.

The event is free and open to the public. No appointment or registration necessary. However, only a limited number of free car seats are available to be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Children must be present and restrained in a car seat upon arrival at the event.
