Volunteering at IU Health Methodist
Our dedicated volunteers contribute their time to provide our patients and families with comfort and assistance. Our volunteers are able to offer their time in a variety of roles, allowing them to gift their time in a manner they enjoy.
We rely on our volunteers, and offer various types of service opportunities throughout Methodist Hospital. If you are over the age of 16, you are eligible to become one of our volunteers. We offer a dedicated summer only program for ages 14 through college senior. Applications for that program become available in January 2015 and must be submitted prior to April 1.
The process of becoming a volunteer may take some time (generally 3-5 weeks depending on your availability), but will be worth it. After successfully completing the requirements, including an application, orientation, reference, criminal background check and a health screen, you may be scheduled for a secondary interview in your area of interest. A request for a resume may be made for certain placements.
Approximately one week after we receive your application you will receive and email outlining “next steps” and instructions to schedule an interview time online.
