Laboratory Testing
IU Health Methodist Medical Plaza South offers many lab services. Most test results are available within 24 hours. However, some tests that call for special processing may require additional time. Patients will need an order from their physician before we can complete any tests.

Monday, 6:30 am – 7 pm
Tuesday – Thursday, 6:30 am – 5:30 pm
Friday, 6:30 am – 5 pm
Saturday, 8 am – noon
Radiology Services
At our south side location, we offer the following radiology services:
- General X-ray
- Fluoroscopy
- Bone density scan
- Mammography
- Computed tomography (CT) scan
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Ultrasound
All exams are read by a board-certified radiologist, and reports are made available to the ordering physician, usually within two to five days after the test.
Radiology exams performed at all IU Health Methodist Medical Plazas are kept on different types of storage media. Not every exam is kept on hard copy X-ray film. If you need a copy of your exam to take with you to a physician, we would be happy to provide you with a hard copy of your exam. We may need 24 hours' notice to ensure your exam is available to be picked up. Please contact the site where your exam was performed for more information.
Outpatient Surgery
A variety of surgeries are routinely performed at our location using our fully equipped, state-of-the-art operating rooms. After surgery, patients are moved to a quiet and comfortable recovery area. For those requiring additional care or extended recovery time, overnight stay is also available.

- Your health history
- Your current medications
- The time you should arrive at the facility
- If a responsible driver is required
- Specific instructions concerning your procedure

Scheduling Information
Appointments are required for the following radiology exams: MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammogram and bone density scans. Appointments are not required for most lab tests, except glucose tolerance tests. Your physician's office may make the appointment for you or may direct you to schedule the appointment.
With the exception of mammography screening, patients will need to provide a physician's order for all tests performed at IU Health Methodist Medical Plaza South. This order may either turned in at the time of the test or faxed to us from the physician's office before your appointment.
Women who desire a mammography screening do not need a physician's order. However, you will need to provide the name of your physician so that a results report can be sent to him or her. Please call 317.962.3580 or 317.278.9729 (XRAY) to schedule a screening test.
All patients must be registered before proceeding to the lab, radiology or surgery departments. Please bring your insurance/Medicare card(s) with you each time you visit the facility.
