Patient Rooms
Most Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital rooms are semi-private. This means you share your room with another patient. Private rooms may be requested, but they are not always available. Private rooms have an additional cost, which may not be covered by insurance.
Meals
IU Health Methodist Hospital's room service, Classic Cuisine, offers patients the opportunity to choose daily what they want to eat and when they want to eat it. Between 6:30 am – 7:30 pm, patients may order meals from a menu that includes items such as made-to-order omelets, broiled tilapia with lemon and dill, crème caramel and Dutch apple pie. Breakfast is available all day.
Similar to a hotel service, patients choose from a menu then call the Classic Cuisine Call Center at 317.963.2222 with their selections. An operator will place the order and confirm any diet restrictions. If your doctor changes your dietary needs, this information will be entered into a computer that the operator can verify.
All food is freshly prepared by IU Health's culinary staff. An ambassador delivers the meal directly to the patient, usually within one hour of the order.
Family members and visitors may also order a meal from Classic Cuisine by going to the cafeteria and purchasing a guest meal. Use cash or credit card to pay for your meals. Guest meals may be ordered to arrive with patient's meal.
Television
Televisions with closed caption devices are available in each patient room at no additional charge. A complete list of available TV channels can be viewed on Channel 2. The television system features information about hospital programs and special events. Channels 71 – 75 broadcast patient health education shows. If you encounter difficulty or technical problems with your TV, call the Television Help Desk voice mail system by dialing 317.962.8717. Leave a message on the voice mail, and the system will page a staff member Monday – Friday.
We have the ability to pick up several broadcast channels from outside the United States. If you would like to view a particular channel, call the television help desk at 317.962.8717, and leave a message with your special request.
Please be considerate of others and only use TVs and radios 6 am – 10 pm. Because the hospital is not responsible for stolen or lost items, we ask that you do not bring personal TVs or radios from home.

Spiritual Care
At IU Health Methodist Hospital, we never forget that our patients are much more than simply a disease to be treated or an injury to be healed. We know each patient is a unique person, with physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Your personal clergy person or spiritual adviser is welcome to visit during your hospital stay, or you may request a chaplain’s service.
Hospital chaplains are available to patients, their loved ones and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is never a time that is inconvenient for a chaplain to respond to a need. You may let your nurse know if you would like to talk with a chaplain or call 317.962.8611 to request a visit. Chaplains are onsite Monday – Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm. To request a chaplain during evenings, weekends and holidays, call 317.962.2000, and ask to have the chaplain on call paged.
