Neurologists at IU Health Methodist Hospital are experts in their field, specializing in all areas of neurological care including stroke, epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, movement disorders and other cognitive conditions. Our collaborative team includes nationally recognized interventional radiologists that are available around the clock to treat cerebrovascular conditions. Our dedicated six bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and hospital neuro telemetry service allows for continuous EEG monitoring of our patients throughout the hospital.
As Indiana’s only neuro-oncology program, IU Health Methodist Hospital houses the Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) system, the latest in stereotactic radiosurgery and the only Perfexion system in Indiana. Perfexion uses gamma rays to treat cancerous and noncancerous brain diseases and delivers the highest level of precision in radiosurgical treatment of brain and skull-based diseases. Our Brain Tumor Program is dedicated to finding the right treatment for each patient through expert clinical care, surgical and radiation options, and groundbreaking clinical trials; each patient is offered personalized care.

This designation is the highest level of accreditation reserved for preeminent facilities that focus on all levels of stroke care. CSC certification means we meet strict performance and outcome standards and provide 24/7 onsite access to the most experienced specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, and interventional neuroradiology (IR) who provide treatment for any type of stroke episode, including hemorrhagic strokes caused by aneurysms or arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Many stroke patients require IR procedures to reduce their risk of severe long term injury or death, the Interventional Radiologists at IU Health Methodist perform numerous clot retrieval, coiling, and stenting procedure yearly, placing them among the top 3% providers in the nation.
