Our specially trained orthopedic team provides all kinds of orthopedic surgeries, from total joint replacements to simple bone repairs and carpel tunnel treatment. Physicians refer patients to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital from across the state and other states. Our surgeons perform total joint replacements for knees, hips and shoulders, and incorporate minimally invasive techniques.
We are well regarded across the country for our trauma services. IU Health Methodist Hospital has orthopedic surgeons are solely dedicated to treating patients involved in traumatic accidents. This includes race car drivers around the country who are air-lifted to our hospital, as well as patients who come to IU Health Methodist Hospital through our ER due to other types of accidents. Our orthopedic surgeons frequently work with other disciplines when other injuries are present, and to facilitate follow-up care. The IU Health Methodist Hospital team also works with orthopedic surgeons on the teaching staff of IU School of Medicine.
IU Health Methodist Hospital trains three fellows in orthopedic trauma each year. Residents from other states train at IU Health Methodist Hospital because of the high level of experience they can receive here.
