An IU Health Blackford Hospital Release
—IU Health Blackford Hospital Named Most Wired for Technology Innovations
Hartford City - For the third year in a row, Indiana University Health Blackford Hospital has been named as one of the nation’s Most Wired® Hospitals by the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Health Forum.
“Blackford Hospital is often recognized for the excellent care they provide, and the personal touch that their patients and their families receive and appreciate,” said Vicki M. Ferrell, Program Manager at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, “We completed the survey for Healthcare’s Most Wired® to prove that Blackford is also very technologically advanced in all areas of healthcare, and to show how those advances benefit their patients.”
The survey ranking reveals that IU Health Blackford Hospital excels in areas such as computerized order entry by physicians, positive patient identification, and the ability to easily share patient’s electronic health care records among their many caregivers, according to Ferrell. These factors all demonstrate ways that advanced healthcare technology has improved patient care, which allow the hospital staff to provide pre-eminent care to their patients, and to win this coveted award.
