BMH Foundation Annual Campaign Underway
| Muncie—The focus of the 2010 BMH Foundation Annual Campaign is to support improvements and expansion of the Cardiac Cath Lab at BMH. The Annual Campaign held its official kick off event earlier this month, and the campaign will run through December 31.
"The Cardiac Cath Lab at Ball Memorial Hospital has been providing life saving procedures for 39 years," said Marianne Kritzer, Sr. Administrative Director/Cardiac Service Line. "This year, we’re helping to ensure that the Cath Lab has the latest technology for the communities we serve, while at the same time creating operational efficiencies to better serve our patients, staff and physicians."
While the current Cardiac Cath lab boasts excellent outcomes and is a leader in terms of quality, BMH President Michael Haley noted the importance to continue to be a leader in the area of cardiac care.
"In the last year, Ball Memorial Hospital was named a top 100 hospital for cardiovascular care by Thomson Reuter’s," Haley said. "While that encompassed all of our Cardiac Services, the physicians and staff in the Cardiac Cath Lab deserve their share of the credit. Once completed, an expanded Cardiac Cath Lab paired with the Cardiac Services housed in our new South Tower will provide our community with access to the latest technology and facilities for every aspect of cardiac care."
"The purpose of the BMH Foundation is to serve as a resource for BMH to enable it to expand with excellence its provision of healthcare, education and research," Tricia Stanley, President, BMH Foundation, said. "We are proud to help the hospital fund a portion of this project, which is estimated to cost over $2.6 million to complete."
Over the past year, the BMH Foundation has supported BMH with more than $2 million in donations to support Cancer Center renovations, the purchase of a new infant security system for Women/Children, digital mammography at Blackford Community Hospital, Graduate Medical education, Nursing Education and many other areas that make a daily impact on the lives of local patients.
This year’s campaign goal is $250,000 and is off to a tremendous start thanks to a combined lead gift from David Dale Designs, LLC, J & T Systems, Inc., Salyer-Taylor, Inc. and US Architects LLP.
Gifts to the Foundation can be made in honor or in memory of a special person. Donations can be made to support the area of greatest need or they can be earmarked to support a specific service area such as Cardiac Services, Women/Children Services, Cancer Services, Pediatric Rehabilitation, or Graduate Medical Education, to name a few.
"An important ingredient for a successful Annual Campaign is leadership," said Kelly Stanley, Chairman of the BMH Foundation. "Providing important leadership to this year’s campaign are Dr. David and Mrs. Marcia Gobble, Co-Chairs, Michael Moran, MD, Physician Chair, and R. Donn and Freida Roberts as our Honorary Chairs. We are very pleased to honor Donn and Freida Roberts - and to recognize their appreciation of importance of BMH and affiliated organizations-demonstrated by many years of leadership and support."
