Cancer Risk-reduction series in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind.—The Retreat Women’s Health Center in Goshen will hold a four-part Cancer Risk Reduction Series for women beginning on Tuesday, May 14 with “Define (and Defy) Your Risks.” All sessions are designed for anyone concerned about their risk for breast cancer.

The May 14 session will feature interactive nutrition and fitness activities. Participants will leave with a shopping bag, fruits and vegetables, useful kitchen gadgets, an exercise band and lots of new ideas for using healthy ingredients in their diets. 

The other sessions include “Take Charge of Your Health” on August 13, “Risky Risk Factors” on November 12, and “A Little Extra R&R” (TBD). Each session runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Retreat Women’s Health Center, 1135 Professional Drive in Goshen.

The program is $10 per session or $30 for all four sessions. All proceeds will go to HeartStrings Sisters, a non-profit organization providing free mammograms to women in need as well as support to newly diagnosed patients in the local community.
