“Get up and GOshen!” event aims to encourage healthy families

GOSHEN, Ind.—Indiana University Health Goshen, in partnership with the City of Goshen Parks Department, will host “Get up and GOshen!”, a family wellness event, on Saturday, August 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free and open to residents of Goshen and surrounding communities. Registration runs from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Schrock Pavilion, Shanklin Park.

“Get UP and GOshen!” includes:

  • Walking or biking the Millrace Trail to the Goshen Farmer’s Market
  • Fun and interactive learning stations in the park and along the trail, including cardio drumming, hoola hooping, dental health and nutrition information, Zumba® for kids, the Safe Kids bike rodeo (bring your own bike), and more
  • The opportunity to earn $10 in IU Health Bucks for your family to spend on fresh produce at the Farmer’s Market by participating in the learning stations (must be spent by 1:00 pm when the market closes)
  • Goodie bags for the first 100 families
  • Refreshments, music, and giveaways
  • Adult health screenings at the Farmer’s Market at the end of the trail
