IU Health Board of Directors elects new chair, adds members
| Indianapolis—The Indiana University Health Board of Directors has announced changes to its Board of Directors:
Anne Nobles has been elected to serve as the chair of the IU Health Board of Directors. She has been a member of the Board since 2012. Nobles retired recently from Eli Lilly and Company after a 22-year career, where she last served as senior vice president of enterprise risk management and chief ethics and compliance officer. She holds a BA and MA in archeology from Harvard University, and a JD from Georgetown University Law School.
Nobles is vice chair of the board of directors of Citizens Energy. In addition, she devotes time to not-for-profit organizations in her community, including The Nature Conservancy of Indiana, for which she serves as a trustee. She is a member of the Committee of 200, an invitation-only membership organization of the world’s most successful women business leaders.
Randall (Randy) Tobias has been elected as a new member and vice-chair of the IU Health Board. Tobias formerly served the United States Department of State as director of U.S. Foreign Assistance and USAID administrator, and served as president and CEO of Eli Lilly and Company. He played a major role in helping to lead AT&T through the difficult period following the breakup of the Bell System in 1984, serving as AT&T’s vice chairman, then chairman and CEO of AT&T International.
Among his honors, Tobias was named Pharmaceutical Industry CEO of the Year by the Wall Street Transcript in 1995, and CEO of the Year in 1996 by Working Mother magazine. In 1997, he was named one of the "Top 25 Managers of the Year" by Business Week magazine. He holds a BS from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, an honorary LLD from IU and five other honorary degrees. He currently serves as a trustee of Indiana University and as a director of both the IU Foundation and the IU Varsity Club.
Gene E. Robbins, a partner in the law firm of Morrison & Robbins in Frankfort, Ind., has been elected to the IU Health Board of Directors. Robbins previously served on the board of directors for IU Health Methodist Hospital in the 1970s and is active in the United Methodist Church.
