IU Health Morgan President to move to IU Health West Hospital

Larry Bailey to become President of IU Health Morgan

Martinsville, IN (September 4, 2015) – Today, IU Health Morgan announced current President Doug Puckett would move into the role of President of IU Health West Hospital in Avon, Ind. effective October 5, 2015. Puckett has led IU Health Morgan for the last three years through its integration with the IU Health system and most recently on its transformation to an outpatient center with a focus on diagnostics, emergency care and wellness services.

“Doug has been a tremendous leader at IU Health Morgan over the last three years. He has helped our organization through the beginning stages of a major transformation and, we believe, set us up for many future successes,” says Rick Hendrickson, chair of the IU Health Morgan Board of Directors. “We wish him the best as he takes on the role of President at IU Health West Hospital and know that the team there is gaining a great leader.”

As news of Puckett’s new position was released, IU Health Morgan also announced its new president – Larry Bailey. Bailey also serves as the President of IU Health Paoli and will continue to hold those responsibilities as he moves into this new role at IU Health Morgan. As a member of the IU Health south central region’s senior leadership team, Bailey will continue the implementation of the new outpatient model of care at IU Health Morgan and lead the major renovation of the facility over the next several years.

“Since our facility joined the IU Health system in 2011, we have gotten to know Larry and what a strong, compassionate leader he is. We are excited for the future of IU Health Morgan and looking forward to Larry leading us through our transformation,” says Hendrickson.

Bailey’s tenure at what was then Bloomington Hospital began in 1992. Since then, he has held various leadership positions, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In 2010, Bailey was promoted to CEO of IU Health Paoli Hospital, where he oversees all hospital operations at the 24-bed facility. 

Bailey holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Morehead State University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Indiana University, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is very involved in the communities in which he works having served as a board member with the Orange County Economic Development Partnership, Radius Indiana, the Monroe County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Brown County Medical Cooperative.
