IU Health Saxony Hosts Senior Health Series

An IU Health Saxony Hospital Release

—Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital invites community members to join physicians and health specialists for a series of events about self-care and graceful aging.

"IU Health Senior Education Series: Taking Time for You" takes place the first Wednesday of each month (except August when it takes place on the second Wednesday) from 6 - 7 pm at Roy G. Holland Memorial Park Building, 1 Park Drive, Fishers, IN, 46038. Events are free and reservations are not required.

"As grandparents, parents, spouses and more, it's not uncommon for seniors to put someone else before themselves," said Mike Harlowe, president of IU Health Saxony Hospital and IU Health Tipton Hospital. "Through brief presentations and audience engagement with IU Health physicians and health specialists, this series emphasizes the importance of prioritizing health and taking care of yourself."

Each session consists of a brief presentation, followed by time for questions and answers. Light refreshments are provided at each session. Topics include:

June 7 - When to Visit the Emergency Room & What to Expect When You Arrive
July 5 - Grandparenting Do's and Don'ts
August 9 - Hip & Knee Replacement - When Is It Time?
September 6 - Heart Attack....When Minutes Matter
October 4 - Breast Health for Men and Women

"We're a community-focused hospital, and this series helps us reach aging adults in a relaxed and fun environment," said Joy Davis, manager of community engagement at IU Health Saxony Hospital. "We hope seniors in Hamilton County see this event as an opportunity to connect with IU Health clinicians and learn about staying healthy."
