IU Health Saxony to Host FREE Women’s Heart Health Dinner on February 23rd
An IU Health Saxony Hospital Release
—Heart disease is the number one killer of women. More than cancer. More than HIV/AIDS. More than car accidents. According to the American Heart Association, nearly one woman per minute dies of heart disease. But most importantly… heart disease is preventable and reversible.
Join us on February 23rd from 6 to 8 pm in Conference Rooms A&B at Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital for an evening dedicated to women’s heart health. We’ll share information about heart disease, specifically as it affects women, tell you symptoms to be aware of and provide the latest information for prevention. Women as caregivers, parents and professionals are uniquely positioned to influence and create heart healthy families and communities.
As the keynote speaker, Farooq Iqtidar MD, cardiologist with IU Health Physicians-Cardiology at IU Health Saxony Hospital, will present the latest research and information pertaining to heart health and women. The evening’s program will feature tips on cooking “heart healthy” with advice from an IU Health dietician.
This FREE 2-hour dinner program will include a delicious heart-healthy dinner with a menu designed by award-winning Chef Peter Fulgenzi and the culinary team from IU Health Saxony’s Atrio restaurant. There will be door prizes, goody bags, take home tips and tricks, and opportunities to ask questions of an expert cardiologist specializing in women’s heart health.
Everyone is welcome to attend this event — female or male— and benefit from this timely information developed to empower women, their families and their communities to become healthier and more vibrant.
