IU Health Tipton Hospital Foundation Board of Directors
An IU Health Tipton Hospital Release
—The IU Health Tipton Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of two new board of directors members to help guide fundraising and stewardship of the foundation which supports the mission of the IU Health Tipton Hospital.
Kurt Hare with Edward Jones will serve as board Secretary. Jerry Markins with Rock Prairie Baptist Church will join the board as Treasurer. Hare and Markins join Tami Brown, board President, and Tracy Miller, board Vice President to lead the IU Health Tipton Hospital Foundation.
“We are excited to recruit such talented and experienced board members,” Tami Brown says. “Dollars raised in Tipton County stay in Tipton County, and are invested thoughtfully and strategically to improve the health and wellness of everyone who lives here. Kurt and Jerry bring valuable insight to this important work.”
The Foundation manages gifts given to support specific initiatives at IU Health Tipton Hospital, and also works with the Tipton County Foundation on several funds held there including the Hilton Hobbs Healthcare Fund and the Scholarship Fund, which supports local high school students’ healthcare career-focused secondary education.
A new area of focus for the board going forward will be to explore what’s called “population health”—addressing disease prevention and wellness promotion, rather than just treating illness—alongside hospital leaders and experts from the IU Health system.
“There is much we can do as a foundation and community partner to help county residents improve their overall health and live longer, more active lives,” Brown says. “These efforts set the stage for our children and grandchildren—and their children and grandchildren to think of Tipton County as a healthy place to live and raise their families.”
