McConnell Named CIO of Indiana University Health

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana University Health has named William F. McConnell, Jr., senior vice president and chief information officer of IU Health, the most comprehensive healthcare system in the state.

McConnell has extensive experience in business management and consulting, and information systems management in the healthcare arena. Most recently, McConnell was president and CEO of an Indianapolis start-up company, FlowCo, Inc. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president of Boston Scientific Cardiac Rhythm Management in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a member of the Boston Scientific executive committee. For nine years, beginning in 1998, he served as vice president and CIO for Guidant Corporation, and from 1990 to 1996, he held the position of senior vice president and CIO, Worldwide, for Resort Condominiums International. McConnell also worked for Arthur Andersen in Indianapolis where he was a managing partner.
McConnell has been a member of numerous community and professional boards, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Morris Innovative (medical device), Bluelock, LLC, (cloud computing) and the American Heart Association, Indianapolis chapter.
