Indiana University Health Goshen will offer a Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course beginning January 14, 2013. This course covers basic anatomy and physiology, airway techniques, Basic Life Support (BLS), pediatric care, trauma care, and more. The Basic EMT Basic Course involves clinical hours in the hospital as well as field internship hours riding on local paramedic ambulances.
The Basic EMT Course is five months long. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost for the course is $700. Textbook and materials are included.
Space is limited and registration is required. A deposit of $200 will ensure placement. The remainder balance can be paid in installments throughout the course. A high school diploma or GED is required for the course.
