Shipshewana Family Medicine Now Providing Cardiovascular Services
GOSHEN, Ind. — Shipshewana Family Medicine, in partnership with Goshen Heart and Vascular Center, is now providing cardiovascular services to further meet the complete healthcare needs of the community.
Peter S. Kim, MD, FACC, a board-certified cardiologist with Goshen Heart and Vascular Center, can complete cardiac exams and perform in-office electrocardiograms (EKGs) at Shipshewana Family Medicine to check for problems with the electrical activity of the heart, including abnormal rhythms. As a result, patients now have access to a cardiologist without traveling a long distance, ensuring they receive the best possible care in a timely manner. “I am excited to be a part of Shipshewana Family Medicine, and I am committed to treating patients with the utmost care and respect,” says Dr. Kim. “I look forward to better serving patients in LaGrange County by providing cardiac services closer to where they live and work.”
Dr. Kim earned his Doctor of Medicine from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, Calif., and completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., attaining Level 2 Skills in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA), nuclear cardiology and permanent pacemaker placement.
Shipshewana Family Medicine also includes orthopedic services. K. Thomas Wagner Jr., MD, FAAOS, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Goshen Orthopedic Care, continues to provide knee and hip replacement and arthroscopic surgery, as well as treat sports injuries and fractures and repair tendons and ligaments. Dr. Wagner received his Doctor of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
