GOSHEN, Ind.—The Retreat Women’s Health Center, part of Indiana University Health Goshen, will host its annual Women’s Expo on Saturday, Oct. 5 from noon to 4 p.m. The event takes place at The Retreat, 1135 Professional Drive in Goshen.
In addition to free health screenings and risk assessments, the Women’s Expo will showcase the products and services of local vendors, and will offer fitness demonstrations, food samples, massages, and more.
Entries from The Retreat’s 6th annual Decorated Bra Event will be unveiled during the Women’s Expo as well. The contest encourages participants to decorate a bra to promote breast cancer awareness. The bras will remain on display at The Retreat until October 25, during which time the public is encouraged to vote for their favorite design, either in person or at www.GoshenBraContest.org. The Retreat requests a minimum contribution of $1 per vote, which will go toward HeartString Sisters, a program providing free mammograms for eligible local women. “Almost everyone has been touched by breast cancer in some way, and this is the community’s chance to get involved and make a statement of their own through their entries,” says Hollie Carlson, health education coordinator at The Retreat. “It is a chance to positively impact the health of local women.”
