Jack and Debra enjoy doing everything together. They loved hiking, but found themselves consistently out of breath after hiking a short distance and having to take constant breaks.
Then Jack had a heart attack. As Debra explained, doing the Medically Supervised Weight Loss program at IU Health Bariatric & Medical Weight Loss was not just about losing weight and smaller pant sizes. It was about keeping her husband around as long as possible.
After watching a friend lose weight rapidly, they asked him what he had done (they were actually worried that he was sick!). When he explained the non-surgical weight loss program at IU Health, he told them it was not nearly as hard as some of the other weight loss programs he had tried. He exercised and ate meals, and was hardly ever hungry. Jack and Debra decided to give it a try.
They are now able to hike long distances. As Debra says, "It's not just about the weight you lose, it's about the life you gain."
Watch Jack and Debra's story and hear about the life they have gained.
