On-Site Cancer Resource Center

IU Health North Hospital partners with the American Cancer Society to provide an on-site Cancer Resource Center to patients and caregivers who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Visitors to the Cancer Resource Center will have access to:

The Cancer Resource Center is staffed by trained volunteers from the American Cancer Society Guild of Central Indiana. The Society Guild is made up of philanthropic women who give back to the community, create awareness and support the Society to help find a cure.

Breast Cancer Care

Breast care at IU Health North Hospital is designed by and for women. Whether your visit is preventative, diagnostic or treatment related, IU Health North Hospital utilizes an unparalleled collection of resources and care to meet the needs of patients with breast concerns.

The program, which is accredited by the National Association Program for Breast Centers, provides multidisciplinary team that make the diagnostic and treatment process as efficient as possible, streamlining transitions between specialists and phases of treatment, and providing support and education to patients and their caregivers. Nurse navigators and oncology social workers are available to provide support throughout the cancer journey.

Cancer Risk and Prevention Services

To learn about your cancer risk, women can take a short computer survey in the Women’s Diagnostic Center when they come for a mammogram. The computer program delivers risk results to a specialized nurse who contacts women who score as higher risk.

Women who are identified as having increased risk will then be offered an appointment as part of one of our Cancer Risk Prevention Programs. With these prevention programs, a specialized physician helps you choose from the options that best reduce your risk. You will continue to benefit from risk appropriate screening tests, clinical trials and new innovations in prevention as they develop. Head & Neck Cancer Care

IU Health North Hospital provides comprehensive care for those with benign or malignant head and neck tumors. Our multidisciplinary team allows for patients to benefit from a wealth of expertise with an individualized focus to maximize functional outcomes after treatment.

Prostate Cancer Care

If a biopsy shows that you have prostate cancer, IU Health North Hospital has a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and medical professionals that will work with you to develop a treatment plan based on your disease. Treatment may include active surveillance, open and robotic surgery, radiation therapy, hormone therapy and/or chemotherapy.

Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Services

Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health provides a distinct and individualized care program that is concentrated on pediatric patients and their families. This outstanding program focuses on care for the whole child—body, mind and spirit—during cancer treatment. Our goal is to diagnose, treat and return patients and their families back to their normal lives as soon as possible.

The program will be supported by pediatric oncology nurses and the region’s finest board certified pediatric specialty physicians:

  • Pediatric rehabilitation services
  • Radiologists with expertise in treating children
  • Radiation oncologists with expertise in treating children

Our dedicated caregiver team will coordinate the patient’s treatment every step of the way. The team will bring in other physicians and healthcare associates to consult as needed to provide the best possible treatment for each child.
