Touch Screen Directory
If you enter the hospital from the women's and Children's (south), surgical specialties (north) or IU Health Medical Offices (west) entrances, you will notice a large electronic touch-screen. This screen is an electronic way finding device, and was built to provide you with a pictorial description of your travel path to help you get to your destination.
Please note that only physician names and offices, hospital destinations, elevator and restroom locations and floor maps are searchable. You can not use the touch screen directory to find patient rooms or phone numbers. If you get stuck, please visit the atrium welcome center and a guest relations associate will gladly assist you.
In the middle of the IU Health North Hospital grand atrium, you will find a circular desk known as the welcome center. The welcome center is staffed from 5:30 am - 9 pm weekdays and 8 am - 6:30 pm on the weekends.
Guest Relations at IU Health North Hospital or volunteers at the welcome center are a wealth of knowledge and can answer most questions about the hospital relating to the location of a physician office or to find a patient’s room information. From here you can also pick up information about hospital services or use the courtesy phone.
In addition, the guest relations associates at the welcome center can gather wheelchairs for visitors or address concerns, complaints or compliments that a guest may have.
You can reach the welcome center by dialing 317.688.2042.
The main elevators at IU Health North Hospital are located in the center of the grand atrium, and are easily noticed as they are covered entirely in cobalt blue glass tiles. These elevators access each hospital floor and visitors can easily use the walkways that connect the hospital and IU Health North Hospital Medical Offices.
The atrium elevators do not go to the lower level. People visiting hospital floors are encouraged to use these elevators.
In addition, there is a bay of elevators near the IU Health Medical Offices entrance. These elevators serve all floors of the hospital including the lower level. People visiting the Medical Offices are encouraged to use these elevators.
If you need assistance, please contact a guest relations associate located in the atrium welcome center, adjacent to the atrium elevators.
