Maternity Suites
The Maternity Suites at IU Health North Hospital celebrate life, allowing a mother and her loved ones to design the birth experience they've always imagined. The maternity facilities feature:
- private and spacious labor-delivery-recovery rooms conveniently located adjacent to two C-section suites
- whirlpool tubs that can be used to ease labor pain
- in-room refrigerator, flat screen TV with DVD player and wireless internet access
- private postpartum space with a modern newborn nursery
IU Health North Hospital also offers state-of-the-art technology to ensure that you and your baby are well taken care of during your stay. Some of these features include:
CarePages
CarePages are free, personal, private Web pages that help family and friends communicate when someone is receiving care. You can set up your own personal page documenting the birth and growth of your child. Only those people you give the address to can view your CarePage and it will remain active for up to 18 years!
Infant Security
The labor/delivery and postpartum units at IU Health North Hospital utilize an infant abduction alarm. Children and infants are equipped with an ID tag that will sound an alarm if not removed by a member of your care team before reaching the exterior doors of your hospital floor. If the alarm is sounded, elevators will temporarily cease operation and members of our Protective Services team will investigate the alarm.
Wireless Monitoring
In the Maternity Suites, a wireless monitoring system is used for fetal surveillance. The wireless monitoring system allows the mother to comfortably move around her room and the unit as she desires.
