Spotlight on: Robotic Surgery

IU Health Partners has been at the forefront of using robotic surgery to provide the best possible care to our patients. At IU Health North Hospital, we are proud to utilize the da Vinci Surgical System, one of the most technological advanced robotic surgery devices.

The da Vinci Surgical System is utilized in several of the surgical procedures at IU Health North Hospital, including minimally invasive, spinal and urological services. The da Vinci Surgical System works by allowing a surgeon, seated at a nearby console, to manipulate the robotic arms of the machine. The surgeon moves their hand just as he/she would during a normal surgery allowing the robot to mimic all of the surgeon's movements.
