Physical Therapy

Our physical therapists provide services that include assessment and treatment for patients who have experienced pain and loss of mobility, strength or function due to a sports injury, birth defect, neurological trauma, repetitive motion, postural changes, joint deterioration or other illnesses/injuries that affect daily living and work activities.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists at IU Health Paoli Hospital care for many of the same patients as physical therapists. Your occupational therapist helps you regain activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, cooking, driving, work activities and play and leisure activities.

Speech Therapy

Speech-language pathologists work with IU Health Paoli Hospital Radiology & Imaging to perform video fluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS) to evaluate the presence of a swallowing disorder.

A speech-language pathologist provides evaluation and treatment for a variety of problems that affect communication including:

  • Impaired or delayed language skill
  • Stuttering
  • Swallowing problems
  • Consistent and age-inappropriate articulation errors
  • Dysfluencies (repetitions, prolongations or interruptions) in the flow or rhythm of speech
  • Poor vocal quality, such as distracting pitch
  • Excessive loudness
  • Inability to follow oral directions
  • Inadequate vocabulary
  • Poor concept formation
  • Difficulty conveying message or conversing with others
  • Difficulty expressing personal needs
