Indiana University Health treats all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. The Financial Assistance policy of IU Health assists those who are uninsured, low income or medically indigent by providing financial relief to those who ask for assistance after healthcare has been provided.

To be considered for financial assistance, please complete and submit an application.
Depending on the information you submit on your application, the documents you present in support of the information on the application and verification of your assets, IU Health may determine that you qualify for financial assistance.
SLIDING SCALE INFORMATION
One of the tools utilized in the determination process is a sliding scale version of the number of household members and the annual household income.

To ensure transparency, consistency and fairness for uninsured patients, our Adjustment for Uninsured Patients Policy sets guidelines for providing a financial adjustment to any uninsured patient who obtains medically necessary or emergency services from IU Health.
