Primary Care

One of the most important steps in keeping your child healthy is choosing a primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP will provide routine care, such as immunizations, and treat minor illnesses and injuries that arise along the away. A PCP can also make sure your child is meeting developmental milestones and identify any health concerns that need to be evaluated by a specialist. A good PCP can be a partner in your family’s health and wellness for many years. Pediatric primary care doctors know that children are fundamentally different from adults and need specialized care.

At IU Health, our physicians serve the needs of all children with care that ranges from performing routine checkups to treating the most medically complex cases. Through Riley Physicians Primary Care, we offer Indiana’s most highly skilled network of board-certified pediatricians and family medicine doctors, with primary care offices conveniently located in many parts of the state. Our pediatric primary care network makes it possible for more families than ever to benefit from the quality, safety, education and care standards set by Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, the state’s only nationally ranked children’s hospital.

Pediatrics is built on understanding children’s distinct needs. At IU Health, we work to get to know your family so that we can provide comprehensive care tailored to your child. Our doctors, nurses and other staff members recognize that each child is a unique case with unique requirements.

Additionally, through our affiliation with the Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, our physicians carry out research to find new ways to treat problems such as asthma, cancer, cystic fibrosis, diabetes and genetic blood disorders. We also help to train the physician of tomorrow through residencies and fellowships.
