Dr. Taha Shipchandler is one of the newest additions to IU Health Physicians. An honors graduate of the IU School of Medicine (IUSM), Dr. Shipchandler completed his general surgery internship and residency in Otolaryngology at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
He completed his fellowship in facial plastics & reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center. In 2010, he joined IU Health Physicians as a facial plastic surgeon specializing in facial cosmetics and reconstruction and as a faculty member at IUSM in the Department of Otolaryngology.
“The IU School of Medicine was a defining factor for me. I am part of a larger organization with very high standards of quality, success, and accountability, and we are at the forefront of patient care,” Shipchandler says.
Dr. Shipchandler chose IU Health Physicians over a private practice. As the only physician in the network specializing in facial plastic surgery and otolaryngology, IU Health Physicians provided him the financial support needed to get his practice up and running.
Physician-Led, Patient Focused
Another key factor in his search for a group to call home was physician leadership. At IU Health Physicians, Shipchandler found a physician-led and physician-managed multi-specialty practice group dedicated to clinical insight and physician perspective.
