Riley Hospital for Childen Child Life Program at IU Health experts are involved in preoperative procedures, working to help the child understand what’s happening and to reduce stress and fear. During difficult or painful procedures, a Riley Child Life Program at IU Health specialist is there to help distract and soothe. Postoperative education is a part of every child’s stay, and playtime sessions - including music therapy - take place throughout the unit. Riley Child Life Program at IU Health specialists help patients keep up with their schoolwork.
