Pediatric Endocrinology Services
Diagnosis and Treatment
At Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, pediatric endocrinologists provide comprehensive services for infants, children and adolescents with diseases or disorders of the endocrine glands, such as thyroid disease, growth or development disorders and diabetes.
In addition to pediatric endocrinologists, our team includes pediatric nurse specialists, dietitians and social workers.
Your child's treatment plan is individualized to his or her unique needs. Depending on these needs, your child may be treated either as an outpatient or inpatient at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health. Our team works closely with your child's referring physician and offers specialized educational services to support your child and your entire family.
Your child may also be referred to the Endocrine Testing Clinic. The clinic is a state-of-the-art outpatient facility providing comprehensive evaluation of a broad range of endocrine conditions.
Education and Support
In addition to diagnosis and treatment, education and support services are also provided to help you, your child and family successfully manage an endocrine disorder. Many families of children who receive care on an outpatient basis require in-depth, ongoing education so that they can successfully manage their child's care at home. For example, families who give growth hormone injections to a child at home receive all the necessary education, written materials and instruction needed for home care, as well as support from our physicians and nursing staff.
Clinical research keeps our team members on the cutting edge of medical knowledge and procedures. Our team participates in a number of clinical trials for both diabetes and other endocrine disorders.
