Hospital Billing

Hospital bills contain a lot of information.  IU Health team members are here to help you understand the information in your statement and to answer questions you may have regarding insurance, payment or assistance.  We’ve created a helpful guide to reading your statement, and some additional help in understanding your statement and what services are available in the below. Your insurance company will be billed shortly after your child goes home. This bill may include such items as your daily room rate, operating room charges, lab tests, x-rays, medications and supplies, and in some cases the physician charges as well. Charges are submitted to your insurance company, and insurance will cover those charges based on your individual plan. You will receive a patient statement from IU Health which contains an itemized list of charges. The amount that appears in the 'patient' column is the amount due from you.

Physician Billing

It is possible that you may receive additional statements for certain physician services billed separately from your hospital services. If you have any questions about these statements, please call the telephone number printed on the statement in question.

My IU Health Billing Services

Online billing is now accessed through My IU Health. To access your online billing account, please select the red button below to sign in or create a My IU Health account. To pay bills without an account please select the Make a Payment with Quick Pay button.

Before calling, please have your account number available. Your account number can be found in the upper left hand corner of the statement you received in the mail.

To speak to a customer service representative once finished with the information gathering process press the number 9 on your telephone keypad.

Customer Service Representatives are located in the Admitting Office. They can answer questions about your bills and help you arrange a payment plan. You can stop by the office or call the Patient Financial Services Department Monday – Friday, excluding all major holidays, 8 am – 7 pm, ET.
