We want you to keep your own personal journal of the "Captain's Thoughts." You can use a notebook or your computer to journal. We will not be reading your personal journal but we will want to discuss those strengths and weaknesses that you are comfortable sharing. Each week for the period of one month, you should make one entry about each of the following topics:
1. Compliments about Me:
What are positive things about you? List at least 2 in each entry and explain why you believe that these are true. Sometimes it is hard to think of good things about ourselves, but we all have them, so take some time and think about it.
2. My Strengths and Weaknesses:
What are your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to controlling your health? Examples: Can you remember on your own to take your medication or does someone have to remind you? Do you remember to take your rescue inhaler with you when you are exercising? List at least one strength and one weakness in each of the areas (asthma, nutrition and physical activity) each week. Explain why you believe that these are true about you.
Do you eat at least one fruit or vegetable a day?
Do you "supersize" every time you eat at a fast food restaurant?
Do you take the stairs at school instead of the elevator?
