To eat healthy it is important to be able to read a food label. You may find that nutritional values of the same type of food may vary greatly between brands.

Let's look closely at this sample label for macaroni and cheese:

Block #3 Activity

Find a food label from a food you eat often from each of 3 different food groups. Tape it to a paper and answer the following questions:

  • What is the serving size?
  • How many servings did you eat?
  • What food group does it fit in?
