Clinical Genetics

The clinical genetics program at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health provides services to more than one thousand children and families per year. We offer genetic consultation and genetic counseling for a variety of hereditary conditions and birth defects. We also offer specialized clinics for children with:

  • Neurogenetic disorders
  • Familial cancers
  • Bone dysplasias
  • Fetal alcohol syndrome
  • Marfan syndrome
  • Thrombophilias

Our board certified geneticists and genetic counselors serve children and families in multiple clinics throughout central and southern Indiana. These services are supported in part by Title V, Maternal and Child Health Block Grant funds administered through the Indiana State Department of Health, Maternal and Child Health Services.

The clinical genetics program at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health also directs the Indiana University Genetic Counseling Program, which provides clinical experience to PhD students and offers post-doctoral fellowships in clinical genetics.
